Personal Project 1: Process5

Personal Project 1: Process5

Sorry for my last update

I started to draw my postcard using illustrator. This is absolute not my strength but i try my best to use Wacom to draw them out.

Below are some main illustration for my postcard.
From the left to right.
Peacock=Deepavali=October, Mosque=Aidilfitri=July,
LionDance=CNY=February, Street with santaclaus and people=X'mas=December
Of course this is not the final visual. I'm still working on it.
Below one is a tryout of my postcard for October. I plan to use plain white as background, and then colourful pattern(related to Deepavali) on top of it, and make the Peacock in larger size. I think i should fill colour on the Peacock?

This is the very first time i use illustration on my work. I will try my best.

Personal Project 1: Process4

Personal Project 1: Process4

This post is about my research materials.
My keywords are "postcard","parents","care your parents","handwritten","visual"

Based on my topic, I have search for some online journal articles about
"Postcards are important", "Why handwriting is better than email" those related to my topic.

I also search for campaign about how children show they care their parents, how to make parents feel special. Unfortunately, I couldn't get much informations. What I able to search is all about how parents should take care of their children, parenting tips, avoid child abuse.(Photo below)

Thus, I think i should really do my topic "Make parents feel special" to encourage citizen should give more attention on parents.

I also went library to get some inspirations about how my postcards gonna look like. I decided to do illustrations as the visual of my postcards which I am not familiar with. So in this project I will challenge myself to draw illustrations.

Personal Project 1: Process3

Personal Project 1: Process3

Updated.

Topic :
Make parents feel special.

Description :
I observed that nowadays not everyone is staying with parents especially for those who work/study at outstation. Although the technology now is convenient enough for us to keep in touch with parents, I believe that parents would like to receive child's handwritten postcard rather than the "emoji" on whatsapp. Therefore, we should write, we should send them a postcard to let parents know we love/miss them. So in this campaign, I'm encourage every child send postcard to parents to make them feel special.

Question :
1) How does postcard is better/powerful than “Whatsapp” messages?

Target audiences :
Malaysian, Young adult to adult, Student and Worker who stay outstation.

Concept :
12 pieces postcards in a pack. From January to December, each postcard represents each month. It is a localize concept of postcard. In Malaysia, every month has festival, so I'll integrate the festival onto my work.

Purpose :
To encourage people send postcard to parents because they would be happy to receive it.

Objective :
Through the research I would able to find out the reasons why parents will be happier when receive a postcard than “Whatsapp” messages. Increase the awareness of loving your parents. Increase the rate of sending postcards.

Personal Project 1: Process 1

If we could refrain from becoming completely defined by technology, we could keep our sanity in check and take pride in still doing some things the long way, just for the satisfaction of it! If we can do that, think of the impact that attitude would have on job performance, family relationships, and community involvement.

Personal Project 1: Process

Let Your Parents Know You Care Them

No matter what, parents always think the best for their children and care for them the most. But do we reciprocate those feelings? Of course we do. We love them and care for them just the way they care for us. But the problem arises when we don’t express it much. We often want to tell them how much care and concern we have for them but are clueless about how to do it.

Nowadays not everyone is staying with parents especially for those who work/study at outstation. Although the technology now is convenient enough for us to keep in touch with parents, I'm encourage children to send them postcard.

I believe that parents would like to receive child's handwritten postcard rather than the "emoji" on Whatsapp.

Why postcard?
Straight to the points. (Touch your parents heart.)
With pretty visuals. (Attract attention.)
Easy to keep.
